I think a time will come for us all where we find ourselves disappointed, as long as we fail in time to find the why that is our motivation, and fail to make it a motivation for ourselves.
I’ve never much struggled with living for the cheers, but I might still find myself booing, when I fail to align the why with the action.
Thank you for highlighting my post! Shoshin was at the front of my mind as I wrote it.
The proof of the pudding is most definitely in the eating. There’s a great book I read a while ago was ‘Skin In The Game’ and it’s about doing what you said you would do. It’s about risking your reputation and embracing the challenge!
I used to care so much about the opinions of others. I was looking for validation because I was insecure about myself. I didn't have a sense of direction in my life, so I looked for it in other people. It wasn't a good way to live.
As I got older, however, I realised everyone is just 'winging it' in life. Other people don't have all the answers, and no playbook exists. It's just everyone doing the best they can.
This realisation was incredibly freeing, and it made me realise how living for the 'cheers' is a waste of time.
Very well put Anže, I think it's a mature way to look at this. Something which helped me a lot think through this was that people are too busy worrying about their own life to pay attention to you and what you're doing.
Sure, they may judge you in the moment you do something, but then it's forgotten about.
As you say, everyone is doing the best they can, so just focus on yourself my friend!
Good read Stefano.

In trying to please everyone we end up pleasing no one, especially not ourselves.
Reading this today, it's clear how much you've changed and grown since October. It's Good to Know the proof of the pudding is in the eating.

I’ll add it to my list of books to check out! Thanks for the recommendation.

Hey Rasmus, thanks for reading as always, I think you're my number one fan haha.
I agree, everyone is going to feel disappointed but got to pick yourself up out of it as quickly as you can and keep moving forward!
